General Procedure
- Each contestant shall give a five to seven minute speech.
- Contestants must prepare original Speeches, meaning the use of material which is original with the speaker, Independent and creative treatment of a Subject or a fresh approach to a Familiar subject.
- To be a Tall Tale, the narrative must be a tale that has a beginning and Ending in the real world, probably with Fantasy and fiction in between.
- All contestants will speak from the same platform. Contestants may wear clothes appropriate to the occasion or to the theme of the speech.
Eligibility
- Contestants must be a member of a District 42 Toastmasters Club in good Standing.
- Contestants must have won prior contest At Area and/or Division competition Levels leading up to District Competition.
Timing
- Timing shall begin with the first word Uttered by the speaker. A green light will be turned on at five minutes, amber light at six minutes, and a red light at seven minutes, remaining on until the speaker concludes. No audible device will be sounded.
- Lights must be visible to the speaker at all times, but not to the audience.
- A speaker is disqualified for Speaking less than 4.5 minutes or more Than 7.5 minutes.
