“When you help someone up a hill…,” words of Helen Blanchard, DTM, International President, 1985/86. She meant we have to get involved. Thus our theme for the Spring Convention, May 9-10, Edmonton, Alberta: “Growth through Involvement.”
The Convention was a success socially, educationally and financially. Attendance was the highest ever. Most often complimented, on the evaluation forms, were the educational programs and our guest speakers, Eddie Dunn, DTM and Jack Gillespie, DTM. We were especially pleased that 84% of first time convention goers indicated they would attend another convention.
Congratulations to all the award and contest winners and all those who, by attending, grew in their communication and leadership skills. Special thanks to the dedicated convention committee. I hope that by helping me up my hill of being convention chairman, you found yourself closer to achieving your own goals.
